About SportRoots
SportRoots is a youth sports training library for athletes ages 6–18, run by a small family team in Des Moines, Iowa. It exists for one reason: parents and young athletes deserve a drill library that is organized, honest about what it is, and free to look through.
What SportRoots is today
The drill library. 718 drills across 18 sports — baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, skiing, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball, weight training, and wrestling — sorted into four age bands so a six-year-old and a seventeen-year-old each get work that fits their stage. Browsing and searching the whole library is free, with no account and no card.
The founding-coach directory. Coach profiles by sport, with free booking requests — you tell us what your athlete is working on and we confirm availability by email. Booking never requires a paid plan.
The parent beta. Beta families get 5 free drills to run with their player in exchange for an honest review. Parent feedback shapes what gets built next — signing up takes an email address and nothing else.
Planned enrollment. Paid plans (Plus, Lifetime, Club) are planned at the founding prices on the pricing page, but enrollment is not open. Nothing is sold or billed today, and nothing here asks for a card.
The four age bands
Every drill in the library carries one band, matched to how kids actually develop:
- U6–U8 (ages 6–8, 180 drills) — fundamentals, coordination, and body awareness in short sessions.
- U10–U12 (ages 10–12, 180 drills) — sport-specific skill building and week-to-week progressions.
- U14–U16 (ages 14–16, 179 drills) — competitive preparation, tactical reads, and higher-intensity conditioning.
- U18 (ages 17–18, 179 drills) — advanced game application and conditioning on the school and showcase calendar.
What SportRoots is not (yet)
There are no athlete accounts, no clip uploads, and no billing on this site today. When those change, the parent FAQ and privacy page will say so plainly, before anything launches.
